In recognition of the newly established National Coral Reef Conservancy, or ReeFLorida at Frost Science, in Miami, we renovated the main floor of the aquarium building. This update included substantial redesigns of the entryway, with mural work from local artists, a sea turtle conservation exhibit, a coral propagation exhibit, and a full re-write and re-design of the interpretive graphics throughout. The challenge: As the aquarium was designed, it covered five main ecosystems, however the ReeFLorida imitative was focused on coral conservation. This meant the re-write took a strategic approach to highlighting interconnectedness of marine habitats and roll-over benefits of conservation programs.
